Once upon a time (more like once a year and generally at Halloween) the world outside the Disney Parks gets to embrace the beauty of the Disney Villains and this time I mean it literally.
Last Halloween Disney, Walgreens and E.L.F. ( a makeup line Eyes Lips Face) joined up and created a line of cosmetics starring the female villains.
My husband knows my love for Disney is not solely for the "good guys." So he took the opportunity to get some Christmas presents that I would never guess by purchasing this beautiful nailpolish box when it was on the shelves at Halloween. What a smart guy. I went to buy them two weeks before Halloween and they were gone, but ha! He wasn't worried, since he had already nabbed them. Score one for the awesome husband!
First lets talk presentation.

The box is asbolutley beautiful, I am a sucker for Maleficent and the Evil Queen on a normal day but this artwork is gorgeous.
Now for the actual nail polish (in order of picture):
Cruella's color palette has a bright red color entitled "Smokin Hot," reminiscent of her bold lips in "101 Dalmations", a chocolate tone called "Smoky Brown", and a light pink shade named "Nude."
These are not really my colors nor is Cruella my favorite villain but I will find uses for the "Nude" and "Smokin Hot" at some point. Maybe Valentine's day.
Maleficent's palette includes a mauve color aptly titled "Mod Mauve" and a bubble gum pink with the appropriate name of "Bubbly gum pink". I am guessing bubbly for her cauldron. The color I was most interested in is a sheer purple base with flecks of holographic glitter in various colors, it is called "Gina Girl."
The Evil Queen's colors include "Pot of Gold" (this one has become my favorite) a gold metallic color, a ruby red metallic shade titled "Cranberry". I would have thought we might go "Red as Blood" but hey, I guess we are trying to sell beauty here, right? The last color is referred to as "Thunderstorm", a smoky deep gray.
The last collection is Ursula's, consisting of a fun seafoamy color called "Mint Cream", a springy orange shade named "Coral" and the last is a rich dark glittery blue/green tone named "Sea Escape".
Out of all the collections, The Evil Queen's and Ursula's capture their character the best. While Maleficent's, despite her being my favorite villain, has my least favorite of the polishes. I would have pictured more greens and blacks along with the purple "Gina Girl" color. My personal favorite collection is the Queen's in this group, colors are great and fit for a queen.
Now onto the actual review of the product. So far I have tried "Gina girl" which is very pretty but requires several coats (try 9) to really get the beauty shown through the bottle. "Pot of Gold" right now is my favorite, both times I have used it, I used it as an accent nail color in my manicures. This color goes on smoothly and has excellent coverage, two coats is perfect!
I used these two colors to create my New Year's Eve nails

This week, I decided to try "Sea Escape" along with my accent nail of the "Pot of Gold" (same color as New Year's). I was very happy with "Sea Escape", it took about three coats and has this really fun vibe to it with the gold. I enjoy the color and it is very on trend.
All and all, I am very happy with this product. For the price (even though hubby got it for me as a gift) of $9.99, you get 12 medium sized nail polishes, themed for some of the best female Disney villains ever. It also has fun shades and consistencies. The nail polish lasts a while too. I normally don't even make it through the drying phase before they are messed up but these last a few solid days even with all my hands on projects. I like the packaging alot too, I am going to keep the whole box together just for the pretty display :)
